Our ministries are focused at children, reaching people affected and infected with HIV/AIDS, ministry to the Karamojong, and the war torn districts of North Eastern Uganda and Southern Sudan.
MINISTRIES
FACE -Facing Aids with Compassion and Education (Director: Joyce Eribu). Riches out to persons infected and affected with HIV/AIDS though awareness about the pandemic, Counselling, Home Care, Training of community Based Health Educaotor. The main objective is to see change of behaviour in the lives of people, as a means of fighting the HIV epidemic.
AMECET (Amecet n 'ainapakin) meaning Shelter of Peace (Director: Els Van Teylngen)
This is a home for children affected and infected with HIV/AIDS. the children are identified by FACE, Government, and members of the community. Some of these children, their parents have been infected with the virus. Some of children are brought when they are malnourished, some sick, and others just abandoned on the street by their families. After they are nursed and treated, they are always taken back to their relatives.
HARMONY This the name for the pre-school. This is aimed at reaching children in the community through formal education. The school combines the government and Biblical curriculum.
DTS We run the Discipleship Training Course at the base once a year. When the schools are not running, the DTS staff run seminars for the local churches. They are also involved in Hospital, prison ministry and coordinating visiting teams.
SOROTI BASE The ministry in Soroti is led by Stephen Orem, who is also the acting National Director of Youth With A Mission Uganda, in the place of Sam Kisolo who is on his sabbatical.
LANGUAGES SPOKEN English is mostly spoken at the base, and most members of the community understand English. other languages spoken include Ateso, Kumam and Swahili.
